Founded in 1904, Alpha Kappa Psi is the oldest and largest co-ed professional business fraternity in the United States. Alpha Kappa Psi attracts achievement-minded business students and provides these students with personal development opportunities as well as enhances their professionalism, thus enabling them to become better business leaders for tomorrow. Through a variety of professional, community service, fundraising, and social events, Alpha Kappa Psi interacts with other organizations that we can offer assistance to, or that can help us continuously improve. Alpha Kappa Psi also helps make the business school better, through involvement with the dean's office and with the Student Government. Finally, Alpha Kappa Psi offers a great opportunity to meet new and exciting people.
Through our four objects, as adopted at our founding, we seek:
* to further the individual welfare of its members;
* to foster scientific research in the fields of commerce, accounts, and finance;
* to educate the public to appreciate and demand higher ideals therein;
* to promote and advance in institutions of college rank, courses leading to degrees in business administration.
Among the benefits of being a member, each member has the opportunity to participate in a number of chapter activities and to be a part of an organization with a strong sense of pride, honor, history and tradition. Each member is encouraged to take an active role in the fraternity. There are tremendous opportunities for growth and leadership on the executive board, the various committees, and through personal involvement.
About the Omega Kappa Chapter
The Omega Kappa chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi was established on May 6, 2006 at Towson University. We are proud to say that we are the only professional business fraternity on the campus. Alpha Kappa Psi is open to all majors; therefore we have a very diverse membership. Our brothers major in Accounting, International Business, Communications, Criminal Justice, Marketing, Management, Sport Management, and even Geography. Our chapter prides itself on our diversity.
The Omega Kappa chapter puts on several professional development, community service, leadership development and social events throughout the year. We strive to enhance our professionalism by creating and attending programs that expand our knowledge of the business world in various aspects. The money received through your sponsorship would be used to enhance the programs that we provide our members and aid us in attending our national events, such as Success Institutes Regional Leadership Conference, as well as events on a chapter level.
